I’m A Brick—House

I am heading back to my beloved GR for a few days for a wedding this weekend and of course I need to stretch my time there as much as possible, so I leave tomorrow and will come back next Tuesday or Wednesday.  It has been a month since I have been there and I will not lie, I miss it.  Terribly.  But that is another blog.

I have been invited to join a group of people that do a Friday Night Tri, every Friday Night.  Seriously. Every Fri night they get together, do a triathlon and then grill out and hang out together.  I was invited by a girl I don’t know very well and I have no idea who else I will know there, so I am somewhat intimidated. So far anything I have done triathlon related has been with my close people.  I just hope I can finish and don’t embarrass myself in front of a bunch of strangers!

I am gonna do it though.  I need to practice doing 2 legs back to back, since that is what I will be doing at the end of the month anyway.  Coach just told me that stacking 2 legs together for training is called “bricking”.  My plan is to swim the 1/2 mile swim (haven’t swam this far in open water yet) and then while everyone else goes for the 16 mile bike ride, I will start on a 3.5 mile run.  Hopefully, I will be returning at least close to the finishers.

So when Coach told me that what I would be doing was called “bricking”, my first thought was “I’m a Brick—House”.  So I thought I would incorporate the song in here, as it fits, RIGHT?

Not so much.  Here are PART of the lyrics…after this point, they just get bad…

She’s a brick—-house
Mighty mighty, just lettin’ it all hang out
She’s a brick—-house
The lady’s stacked and that’s a fact,
ain’t holding nothing back.

She’s a brick—-house
She’s the one, the only one,
who’s built like a amazon
We’re together everybody knows,
and here’s how the story goes.

    • we will see how it goes…perhaps after this I will have to bow out of the Aug 29th tri….(I jest about this…I will not quit before I even get to the starting line!)
